I am glad to see CC pitching better, and Cliff Lee continues to be out of his effing mind (4-0 0.25 ERA). I think once we start hitting with more consistency we'll see the Tribe team we all expected. Hopefully the Bullpen will come around also, because everyone has looked shaky from Betancourt on down.

The Cavs got whupped on by the Wizards last night, but maintain a 2-1 lead in the series. I am a big fan of NBA basketball when both teams truly dislike each other and their is something on the line. Regular season NBA basketball is kind of boring to me, but the playoffs are pretty enjoyable. The ongoing feud between the Wiz and the Cavs is fun to follow.

This is draft day weekend, and I can honestly say I probably won't pay much attention. I am sure the largest reason is because the Browns don't have a pick in the 1st 3 rounds, but I am cool with that. I have read up on what people believe Phil Savage's mindset is going into this draft, and I am down with it. He basically focused on the D-Line, and felt that he couldn't drastically improve our defensive front with any of the potential picks we would have in rounds 1-3, so he took that money and moved it towards signing Shaun Rogers and Corey Williams who are 2 established 3-4 defensive linemen. Either way I think we have become better defensively during the offseason, so no its time to sit and wait for trainning camp, and THE 5 NATIONALLY TELEVISED games the Browns have next year...Good times.

Now without further Adieu I give you my Friday 5.

1. I don't know where it ranks against Knocked Up or Superbad, but it was a pretty decent flick all and all. Mila Kunis was pretty good in here role as the other woman, and in my opinion is an upgrade over Kristen Bell. In that situation A guy couldn't really lose in that situation. I could have done without the 10 or so scenes of male frontal nudity, but it did add to the akward feeling of the scenes. I also saw previews for another flick upcoming by the guys who have done these movies called Pineapple Express, and it looks hilarious. It is sort of a combination of the old cheech and chong flicks but with a Midnight Run action flavor to it. I am definitley looking forward to seeing this movie when it drops in August.

The Tribe is killing me right now. Criaggers and I headed down to the finale of the Tigers series to see Fausto pitch a gem, and the bats actually come alive. I wish this team could put together complete games, because lately either one facet of our game shows up like pitching, and the other doesn't. It is good to see Pronk starting to take good swings, and I am also happy Garko hasn't hit a sophomore slump, but the 2 headed monster in Left field is sort of killing us right now. Hopefully either Michaels or Dellucci get it together, or I wouldn't be suprised to see Ben Francisco get the call from Buffalo. I also have been watching Barfield's stats, and he is hitting well in AAA. Shouldn't he be a good enough athlete to play left? Whatever the case is, I am trying not to go into full out panic mode, but it is tough, April is coming to a close, and this team just seems to be stuck in neutral.

I haven't had a Friday 5 post since I was knee high to a grass hopper so here goes:

1. Sasa Matsu- The Sasa Fire roll is absurd, it is probably the best sushi roll ever

2. I was pretty suprised with both Memphis and Kansas beating UCLA and UNC respectively. I had UCLA/UNC playing for the title, but both seemed to shit the bed in the national semis. I was pretty shocked that Tyler Hansboro got beat up pretty bad on the boards and offensively. I have seen him play probably 3-5 times, and he always seems like the scrappiest player on the floor, but against Memphis he just looked outclassed.

The Tribe had an up and down opening week. Opening day they took a 7 run lead on the Chi-Sox, relinquished the lead, and then Casey Blake bailed them out in full out baseball savior mode. More than anything I am bothered that our bullpen has looked shaky, and CC has looked erratic. I also am worried that Victor is hurt worse than the Tribe is letting on. Hopefully things gel without him in the lineup. More than anything else there are still 157 games left, so I am not even close to panicking, but alot of the mental check marks I had about the 08 Tribe are not question marks.

The new Jet Li Jackie Chan flick "Forbidden Kingdom" looks bad ass. Uusally Jackie Chan plays more clownish loveable figures, and Li is more the anti-hero type. I am kind of psyched to see what direction they go in with the story in this one. Having two of the best martial art stars in the same movie can't be a bad thing though.

Greg Giraldo comments on getting old, man-boy whores, and bitches...good times.

Friday 5, Opening Day, Fantasy Baseball

Opening Day is 3 days away, and I am getting psyched. I really hope the weather is semi-cooperative with the game, because last years snow out, although fun, was a little bit of a downer because I was totally looking forward to watching a full baseball game, and not freezing my ass off. This year it's looking like 40 degree temps, and a chance of rain. I will be serving as Craig's assistant GM, which is a cool way to run a fantasy team because being the HNIC in fantasy baseball gets tough especially with drafting, trade requests, and working the waiver wire. All and all I think the Cleveland Sports Curse Team has a helluva chance of winning the entire league...Plus we drafted Kevin Kouzmanoff, so there is no way we can be beat!

There is a sweet article in ESPN the Magazine on CC Sabathia, I realize he is probably headed out of Cleveland, but it is hard to read this article and not like the guy. Just like it was hard not to like Jim Thome before he left, and just like it was hard not to like Manny Ramirez before he left. Basically what I am saying is CC's grace period with me will only last while he's wearing the red, white, and blue of the Tribe...go elsewhere and feel my wrath Carsten!

Now without further discussions on players who rue the day they ever messed with me...I give you my Friday 5.

1. Despite all of this chicanery the Seattle Mariners came out with an awesome hat with a simple down turned trident that forms an M. I love this hat because it is simple, but at the same time screams I am a long shoremen looking for VENGEANCE! If you haven't seen the movie I would definitley recommend it. If for nothing else than to help explain the last 10 minutes to me. Seriously though this movie didn't pussy foot around, you were basically dropped right in the middle of a completely effed up situation between a bunch of eccentric characters. I was also very impressed with Travis Hafner's acting ability as he turned in an Oscar caliber performance as Anton Chigurh.

My NCAA brackets are still semi-intact which I feel pretty good about, especially with the rash of upsets this year. My Cinderella pick of Siena didn't come through as I expected, but if someone would have told me that the sweet 16 would include Davidson, Western Kentucky, West Virginia, and Villanova, I probably would have taken that bet.

1 week from today is opening day folks, and I honestly CANNOT WAIT! Good times were had in Orlando as I exposed my glowing white skin to some actual sun shine and temperatures above 30 degrees. The question begs to be asked though, if I lived in a warm climate permanently would I ever be motivated to do anything productive? The weather in Orlando was frigging awesome with temps in the 80's, light breeze, and only one day with some reasonable cloud cover. I got to check out the city a bit after business hours, and got to rock the pool, hot tub, so I can't complain.

A few pretty hysterical things happened on the trip which I will list below:

When we asked an Asian waitress at the hotel bar if she recommended any good local non-touristy sea food places she replied with the options of either Red Lobster or Arbys. Because I was 1/2 embalmed with Red Bull and Stoli it was pretty hard not to laugh hard enough to soil myself. I scratched my chin to feign deep thought and said "Red Lobster...interesting?!?". I am still trying to figure out Arby's as a sea food recommendation. I am sure they have some 2-$5 fish deal going on with the Lenten season, but even if you are completely foreign wouldn't Arby's not come off like a sea food place?

For some reason alot of the local places in Orlando card EVERY person who orders a drink. Not just people who look younger than 38 or whatever number. Later in one evening I was carded and submitted my AAA card for age verification. Not sure why I did this, but it took the waitress, at least 2 minutes to realize my chicanery. Good times.

This actually happened to my boss, not to me, but it is worth mentioning. A guy sitting next to him on the flight was asked if he would like the in flight snack. He responded with "As long as there is enough for everyone." Of course this was pretty odd, but no one paid it much mind, until he later requested a glass of water under the same stipulation. The same guy had a pretty rough time during the flight, and pretty much was convinced that the plane was going to burst into flames at any moment. He closed and opened his window shutter at least 30 times during the flight.

We went down to a city near Orlando called Celebration, and were kind of weirded out with how nice it was. Imagine being on the set of the movie Pleasantville but more perfect than that. Usually you'd think being in such an amazing setting would be cool, but it was strangely disconcerting. I wanted something bad to happen just to feel more normal about things. While we were there I don't think I saw one car older than 2005, and most of the cars driving around were luxury models. There were also an insane amount of the "Smart Cars" or souped up golf carts on the roads which just made things weirder.

The security guards at the Orlando World Center Resort all rock Segways. Which was pretty hysterical. There is nothing like chilling poolside with a beer in awesome weather, and having a dude in a 3 piece suit roll past you on a segway.

This weeks Wicked Awesome Hat comes to us from the AAA Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. The Iron Pigs look honors Lehigh Valley’s role in producing much of the steel that built America. The primary logo includes a stylized pig head made of iron and the words “IronPigs” riveted together in bold letters. The team’s official colors Brick Red, Furnace Blue and IronPigs Steel are colors of the old Bethlehem Steel mills. “Iron Pigs” is derived from “Pig Iron,” the raw iron used to make steel. The iron was called Pig Iron because it ran into a row of molds, said to resemble a litter of pigs.

Now without further discussion on the delicious sea food from Arby's I give you my Friday 5.

1. Alot of times when indie films get Oscar hype they are pretentious, or about a "buzz topic" so therefore I end up hating them. Juno was not your typical indie flick with Oscar buzz. All the characters were likeable and believable in their roles, and the dialog was funny, realistic, and current. If you can still catch this in a theater around you it is a good movie going experience

.

Tournament time is here, and I am psyched! I still like Siena making some noise, and I also think Butler is going to suprise some people. I am really anxious to see when the Gonzaga/Davidson game is going to be. I like this match up because Davidson is a legit upstart with more than a punchers chance against Gonzaga who used to be everyone's favorite Darkhorse. I think this game is going to be pretty sweet. I think Wisconsin got screwed with their #3 seed after winning the big ten. They are going to sneak up on people if thats possible for a 3 seed. After looking over the brackets I think the biggest meat grinder of any region is the East they have UNC, Tennessee, Louisville, Notre Dame, and Washington State. I think the winner of this region is going to the championship game against UCLA.

I ended up purchasing MLB 2K8 for PSP, and so far it is a pretty decent game. I still can't wait until EA can start putting out MLB games again (2010?) but for the most part it is enjoyable. The one glitch, that is actually kind of hilarious is that the commentators call Victor Martinez "Pedro" all of the time. If you set Victor up outside they'll say "Pedro's looking for the pitch low and outside." if Victor is at bat they'll say "Pedro is one of the best offensive catchers in the game today." I dropped an email to 2K Sports about this, maybe I'll hear something back or get some free shit out of the deal.

Here's a lil gangsta, short in size
A t-shirt and Levi's is his only disguise
Built like a tank yet hard to hit
Ice Cube and Eazy E cold runnin shit
--N.W.A. Sure it isn't nice to enjoy watching someone's career, and family go up in flames, but man for all the hard nosed straight arrow persona this guy put off, it is damn funny as more and more illicit details come out about his tryst with a hooker from the Emperors Club. Plus, not that I condone what he did or anything, but if your going to jeopardize your career, maybe he should have done so with a smoking hot call girl, and not just an 8 at best. Maybe he should have shopped around or done some more research on the Emperor's club website?

I am a bit suprised the Browns spent the money to extend Gary Baxter on Thursday. I am pulling for the guy to make it back from having two torn patellar tendons, and I realize the 1 year deal probably isn't for a huge amount of money, but it just seems like a pretty decent cap risk when he may not be able to help us out in the secondary.

I am pretty amped about the NCAA Tournament coming up. I don't watch a ton of college hoops during the regular season, but I start following during conference championship week, and am totally into filling out brackets and watching upsets throughout the tourney. My tournament dark horse this year is going to be The Siena College Saints who beat Rider to win the MAAC Championship. Siena has a young and quick team that is steadied by strong and deep play at the guards. All of their guards can shoot the three, so I think as long as they don't draw a team with a massive front line and get killed on the boards Siena is going to be a dark horse and make it through a round or 2 upsetting some better known teams. I also love the fact that their mascot is an angry Saint Bernard. I'd also like to point out that their mascot isn't carrying a rescue barrel around his neck like a typical St. Bernard, this is an obvious indication that he is out for VENGEANCE!

Maybe it's because I hate the Yankees with every ounce of my being, and maybe it's because Billy Crystal has done nothing funny since the 1st City Slickers, and I think he's an arrogant hack, but why is it such a big story that he batted lead off for the Yankees. If it would stop effing snowing already! Seriously after the 1st foot of snow I got the point. The next foot of snow just plain chapped my ass! I accept I live in an area where it snows, but this weekend was re-god-damned diculos! Shoveling snow can tug a nut!

I did get to finally finish off American Gangster this weekend. I have had the movie for like 2 weeks, but with a 2 year old checking out violent movies isn't the easiest thing to get away with unless I watch it late at night. Anyway, American Gangster was pretty awesome. I have to say I liked Russell Crowe in his role as the prosecutor/special detective. I haven't liked him that much since A Beautiful Mind or Gladiator. Both of which were more good stories than fantastic acting. Denzel Washington was pretty good in this movie also. I still struggle with him being a bad guy, but he is convincing.

Other than checking out some flicks, I also researched baseball games for the upcoming season. I am having a hard time deciding between MLB 08 "The Show" and MLB 2K8. Both look pretty awesome, but I am not sure which one is going to be more realistic, and which one is going to have good mini-games. I also have to consider which one will translate the most options to the PSP, because that is essentially the only platform I still rock. I do still have the PS2, but with a rash of Thomas the Train, and Go Diego Go, I don't get to rock the PS2 that much anyway.

The Friday Five

Home Run Derby has a pretty awesome list compiled of the best promos going on this season in Major League Baseball. The Indians are once again doing a "Free Money" night where you’ll get an envelope. with between $1 and $10,000. The Indians will be giving away $50,000 dollars to 32,849 fans at this game on June 28. I also like Cowbell Night at the with the Florida Marlins on June 7th. There is nothing more god awful for an opposing team than hearing a large group of people ringing cowbells in unison after a good play for the home team.

I am still pretty happy with the Browns free agency acquisitions, but I think things have gotten a wee bit more interesting now that the Eagles have released Takeo Spikes after 1 season in which he amassed 136 tackles. I realize Spikes may not be the 2 time pro bowl Line Backer he was with the Bengals and the Bills, but I would LOVE to see the Browns sign him to a short term incentive laden contract to see if he could help us against the run. This was a big hit despite the protests I got from a lesbian New York Yankee fan. I wanted to get away from the "Gay Song Wednesday" game, and introduce a new section called Wicked Awesome Hat Wednesday. I have an unhealthy obsession with hats. To date I have more than 100 ball caps that fill 2 55 gallon rubber maid containers, a garbage bag, and a 22 place hat rack that is in my closet. That rack is for the 22 best hats I have in my rotation at any give time. From day to day I may change the rotation, but for the most part I have my standard 6 Cleveland Indians hats, 3 Cleveland Browns hats, 2 Ohio State hats, and a host of other obscure minor league baseball and college ball caps. With this in mind I would like to launch Wicked Awesome Hat Wednesday, or WAHW for short.

The 1st hat for WAHW has to be something amazing. I had to look deep in the recesses of my mind to find a hat that really got me rolling in hat collection. I believe my unhealthy obsession began sometime around 7th grade during the height of the Starter Jacket and Raider cap craze. As an avid hip hop fan I did have a Raiders cap with silver block lettering, that screamed ghetto even though I hailed from a town with 1 stop light, and a 99.85% white populace. Anywho, the hat that got me started wasn't a Raiders cap it was a 1969 Montreal Expos cap with multi-colored panels. This hat essentially looked like a clown hat, and was the furthest thing from ghetto fabulous. The 1st time I rocked this was at a 7th grade dance I borrowed it from my brothers friend Alex, and it was met with much fan fare and adoration. Mostly from dudes, because chicks didn't pay any attention to me in middle school. So today I give to you the 1st installment of Wicked Awesome Hat Wednesday "The 1969 Montreal Expo's Multi-Colored Cap"

Weekend Wrap Up

The Browns went wild in the Free agent market this weekend. Phil Savage signed 3 impact players, and I think the defense is already much improved. The signing of Shaun Rogers and Corey Williams gives the Browns a much needed upgrade in the pass rush area. I also like the addition of Donte' Stallworth to the Browns receiving corps. I think he'll be a great addition to play opposite of Braylon, and will create mismatches and single coverage for Kellen Winslow and Joe Jurevicius. I also am happy with the Browns for retaining Derrick Anderson. At 1st I thought this may be some sort of sign and trade move, but it seems like the front office is insuring the offenses success with a proven QB in Anderson, and a QB with a huge upside in Brady Quinn. All & all I haven't been this excited about the Browns in March in a LONG time.

My wife and I took delivery on a new GMC Envoy Friday night, and I am pretty psyched about the deal we got. I really liked a few cars I saw, and am pretty sure which one my wife and I will be getting into soon. On the same subject there were some other cars that were fricking sweet, that I probably won't be purchasing. The BMW 135i has been produced in Europe for a number of years, and is being touted as an entry level BMW to compete with the Mercedes C class, the lower Lexus models, and the X type Jaguar. I liked the styling of the 135i, but it is a 2 door coupe, and isn't much bigger than a Chevy Cobalt, so sure you get into a BMW, but it is a tiny BMW and it still costs $35k to start. I drooled over the Audi's for a bit, but a more realistic car for me may be the Pontiac G6 GXP edition. I can pretty much load one of these up with options (Nav, Leather, huge sound system, chromed out rims, etc) and still stay right below $30K. It is a little less expensive than the A3 which I really liked, but has way more options, and I can stick with my current dealer who works with my family pretty well. By the way, when did Saturn's start to kick ass? They have come a long way since the economy vehicle they were originally launched as. The Outlook is really nice, and affordable, as is the Aura.

I rented American Gangster this weekend, but couldn't watch it. My wife tends to believe our 2 year old isn't ready for this type of movie, I am sure she has a point, but with his Nintendo DS induced tunnel vision, I don't know if he would have noticed a full fledged gang war going on in our living room.

I took in some of the Cavs game Sunday also, and although I didn't watch every minute of the game I have to say I am pretty impressed with how quickly the new guys meshed with everyone. Delonte West was better than I thought. He does some wild shit with the ball every now and then, and worried me a little when the Grizz went to a trap, but for the most part he looks solid enough to bring the ball up, spread the floor and run the offense. I came out of last night thinking Joe Smif was the diamond in the rough of this trade. Maybe his struggles are going to be eased by a change of scenery. More than anything else, I felt we looked tougher, more athletic and quicker on both offense and defense...Sure it was Memphis, but to play like we did with that many new faces was encouraging.

I read a convincing article on David Dellucci today on the Tribe's website. I am not a huge fan of the platoon system, but if Dellucci and Jason Michaels can put up some power numbers I will feel alot better about our corner outfield situation. I still think this is one thing Mark Shapiro should have addressed in the off season, but with Michaels playing solid last year and having Dellucci back healthy (hopefully) we'll be able to get some production from Left Field.

I can't get the song "West Coast" by Coconut Records out of my head. My buddy has it as his profile song on MySpace, and honestly I haven't been able to get it out of my head since I 1st heard it. Now it has made the rotation on I-Rocco Baldelli (My ipod) and chances are it will be there until I gouge my ears out.

Friday 5

I am pretty stoked about the Cavs trade yesterday. My wife and I are actually in the market for a new ride, so this trip will be for me to gawk at Audi's and other slick cars I probably won't be able to afford any time soon, but we'll also get to sit test some of the cars we are interested in. I am also pretty hyped to see the new Camaro. The company I work for is working on the center display lenses, so it is pretty sweet to have a hand in something people see everyday.

Just a follow up to last weeks Friday 5 where I mentioned Bonsai Sandals. I ordered my Bonsai's on the 15th and got them this week. I have to say they are treating me to the best flip-flop experience of my life. As you can see below the sandals have a sheepskin lining that not only keeps your feet warm, but also molds to the contours of your foot and is really comfortable. I liken it to continuously walking in bare feet on a freshly vacuumed soft shag carpet. Needless to say when I open my own specialty baseball hat store I will also be carrying Bonsai Sandals.

By now I am sure most people have checked out the Lindsay Lohan nude photos from New York Magazine. Apparently LL was paying homage to her idol Marilyn Monroe who did the exact photo shoot (location, props, photographer) before her death. I think Lindsay Lohan is hot, no joke, but part of me was a tad disappointed as the current Lindsay Lohan is quite as hot as the version from Mean Girls or Herbie Fully Loaded. It was sort of like the Farrah Fawcett Playboy spread a few years back where the perception I had of her with clothes on was hotter than she was nude.

Now without further discussion of the Lindsay Lohan nude spread in New York Magazine I give you The Friday 5.

1. I knew going in that it wasn't going to be Citizen Kane, but it honestly was pretty awful. I am a huge sports movie fan, so I at least figured picking out the spoofs would be entertaining, but all and all this movie sucked ass.

Kimbo Slice is the a certified bad mofo. Not that I didn't know that before his 2nd fight in EliteXC against Tank Abbott on Saturday night. I did think someone with the chin of Abbott would be able to hold up against the strength of Kimbo Slice. I was wrong. Slice destroyed Abbott in :43 seconds in front of a completely pro-Kimbo crowd, and increased his MMA market value ten fold. The question I think alot of MMA fans are asking is, when will Kimbo make it to the UFC? Also with 2 raw potential superstars in Kimbo and Brock Lesnar, MMA should learn from boxings convoluted sanctioning bodies and unify under 1 title. Imagine the money that could be made and the interest that would be generated with a Brock Lesnar Vs. Kimbo Slice fight in a HUGE venue.

I checked out NBA All Star Saturday on DVR. Which is totally the best way to watch these events. I was pretty psyched to see Boobie Gibson put on a good show in the Rookie Challenge, and the 3point shoot out. The obstacle Course and shooting stars contests are garbage, but this years dunk contest was actually bad ass. The dunk contest has been pretty lame for a few years, but this year Dwight Howard and Gerald Green were awesome. Green's birthday cake dunk where he blew out a candle on a cupcake balanced on the rim while dunking was one of the most creative dunks I have ever seen. Dwight Howard matched Green's creativity, but his dunks were honestly things I have never seen before. His Superman dunk, and the toss off the back of the back Board was insane. With all of this said I am still not planning on watching the all star game itself.

The Friday 5

I haven't done a Friday 5 since Hector was a pup, so I could probably do like a Friday 1005, but I'll just start listing things of notable awesomeness until I get bored.

1. Sure it was fun to have the Browns win some games this year, and Ohio State's run to the National Title game was awesome, but honestly I just cannot wait for baseball season to get going. There are some serious questions facing the Tribe as they look to defend their AL Central Crown this year.

1. Who will be the 5th starter? Among the candidates are Aaron Laffey who pitched well in spots down the stretch last year. Cliff Lee who recovered from a early season rib injury and was adequate in a few spot assignments. Jeremy Sowers who endured a bad sophomore slump but came back strong with some good numbers in the minors. You also have to figure it is time for Adam Miller once thought to be the best arm in the Indians farm system to finally fulfill his potential. The good news is there are alot of options. Terry Pluto figures that we may have the deepest pitching in the majors. I agree with him, if you take a 60,000 foot view of our rotation it could be as deep as 7 pitchers. Plus you have to believe That CC Sabathia will pitch well in a contract year (more on that later) and Fausto Carmona will continue to be tough on batters with his sinker and 2 seam fastball.

2. What will happen with CC Sabathia? CC has called off all contract negotiations until the end of the season. Initially I thought this was a pretty shitty move. To me he was basically saying that the Tribes $18 million dollar 4 year offer was too low, and he had made up his mind to walk. I still think this is part of it, because his numbers are stronger than Johan Santana's who just signed a $146 million dollar deal with the Mets. After rethinking it though Sabathia may just want to squelch all of the hoopla and media attention contract negotiations typically create. Last season they were at least part of the reason Travis Hafner was for shit.

3. What will come of the log jam in the corner outfield spots? Going into Winterhaven the Tribe will have 7 outfielders reporting to camp. David Dellucci, Jason Michaels, Ben Francisco, Franklin Gutierrez, and Shin Soo-Choo all figure to play in the equation. The platoon system worked ok last year, but I feel like we need to seriously set at least one of the corner spots. I would like to see Fransisco and Gutierrez go head to head and the one who shows the most keeps the spot for better or worse. I think this is the only way we'll know what we have out of these guys. Michaels and Dellucci both have the ability to platoon, so why not set them up in right and have Goot and Fransisco fight for left.

4. How will the complexion of the AL Central Change with off-season acquisitions?
The Tigers and Whitesox have loaded up, and the Twins have begun rebuilding, how will the AL Central look this year? Honestly the Tigers scare the shit out of me. They honestly have one of the most potent and versatile lineups in all of baseball. They also have added Dontrelle Willis to their rotation. I think the Tigers are going to be a force in the central, but I also think some of the things that derailed them last year will do so again in 08. Sure they have Rogers, Robertson, and Verlander to start games, but other than Todd Jones no one in their bullpen worries me. Joel Zumaya can be one of the scariest pitchers in the game, but he is so inconsistent I don't see him contributing night in and night out in either a set-up or closing role. The Whitesox added Nick Swisher to a potent lineup. Swisher will benefit from Jim Thome and Paul Konerko batting in front of him, and Jermaine Dye who may bat behind him. I still think the Sox need to add another top of the rotation quality pitcher to complement Mark Buehrle who is starting to hit the downside of his career. Bobby Jenks is a solid closer but like the Tigers there aren't people in front of him in the bullpen to get the game to him in the 9th.

5. What's the deal with the new Block C jerseys and caps?
I personally like the Block C look. It is a modernized throwback look kind of like the San Diego Chargers new uni's. I still haven't found a "Franchise" cap with the new logo, but once they drop I'll definitely be purchasing one.

Deezo's Triumphant Return

So I took a wee bit of a break from the blogsphere to work on my game and come back stronger like Michael Jordan, Jay-Z, Tommy Vardell, Wanad Sykes, and Influenza. Anywho, my gameplan is pretty much the same this time around. I am going to post pretty much meaning less drivel about sports, food, technology, current events, semi-hot chicks I find hotter than most people, and of course wiffle ball. I will probably be brining back some of my old standards like Gay Song Wednesday and The Friday 5. As the days pass we'll get into my unhealthy obsession with the Cleveland Indians as well, so we've got that going for us. So on behalf of my entire staff of 1 bellhop, a fluffer, and an omlette chef I'd like to welcome back my dozens and dozens of fans....

Look what you made me do, look what I made for you
Knew if I paid my dues, how will they pay you
When you first come in the game, they try to play you
Then you drop a couple of hits, look how they wave to you
From Marcy to Madison Square
To the only thing that matters in just a matter of years (yea)
As fate would have it, Jay's status appears
to be at an all-time high, perfect time to say goodbye
When I come back like Jordan, wearin the 4-5
It ain't to play games witchu
It's to aim at you, probably maim you
If I owe you I'm blowin you to smithereeens
Cocksucker take one for your team
And I need you to remember one thing (one thing)
I came, I saw, I conquered
From record sales, to sold out concerts
So muh'fucker if you want this encore
I need you to scream, 'til your lungs get sore

    --Jay-Z Lyrics from Numb/Encore
